【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesforthemeasuringoftheminimumconcentrationofoxygeninaflowingmixtureofoxygenandnitrogenthatwilljustsupportflamingcombustionofplastics.Correlationwithburningcharacteristicsunderactualuseconditionsisnotimplied.Inthistestmethod,thespecimensaresubjectedtooneormorespecificsetsoflaboratorytestconditions.Ifdifferenttestconditionsaresubstitutedortheend-useconditionsarechanged,itisnotalwayspossiblebyorfromthistesttopredictchangesinthefire-test-responsecharacteristicsmeasured.Therefore,theresultsarevalidonlyforthefire-test-exposureconditionsdescribedinthistestmethod.1.1Thisfire-test-responsestandarddescribesaprocedureformeasuringtheminimumconcentrationofoxygen,expressedaspercentvolume,thatwilljustsupportflamingcombustioninaflowingmixtureofoxygenandnitrogen.1.2Thistestmethodprovidesthreetestingprocedures.ProcedureAinvolvestopsurfaceignition,ProcedureBinvolvespropagatingignition,andProcedureCisashortprocedureinvolvingthecomparisonwithaspecifiedminimumvalueoftheoxygenindex.1.3Testspecimensusedforthistestmethodarepreparedintooneofsixtypesofspecimens(seeTable1).1.4Thistestmethodprovidesfortestingmaterialsthatarestructurallyself-supportingintheformofverticalbarsorsheetupto10.5-mmthick.Suchmaterialsaresolid,laminatedorcellularmaterialscharacterizedbyanapparentdensitygreaterthan15kg/m3.1.5Thistestmethodalsoprovidesfortestingflexiblesheetorfilmmaterials,whilesupportedvertically.1.6Thistestmethodisalsosuitable,insomecases,forcellularmaterialshavinganapparentdensityoflessthan15kg/m3.Note18212;Althoughthistestmethodhasbeenfoundapplicablefortestingsomeothermaterials,theprecisionofthetestmethodhasnotbeendeterminedforthesematerials,orforspecimengeometriesandtestconditionsoutsidethoserecommendedherein.1.7Thistestmethodmeasuresanddescribestheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.8ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.9Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
