【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsareusefulasarapid,nondestructivetechniquefordeterminationofasphaltcontentofbituminousmixtures.Thesetestmethodsaresuitableforqualitycontrolandacceptancetestingforconstructionandforresearchanddevelopmentapplications.Thetestmethodisusedfordeterminationofasphaltcontentonlyasitdoesnotprovideextractedaggregateforgradationanalysis.Thenon-destructivenatureofthetestallowsrepetitivemeasurementstobemadeonasingletestsampleforstatisticalanalysisoftestdata.Thesetestmethodsdeterminetheasphaltcontentofatestsamplebycomparingthemeasuredasphaltcontentwithpreviouslyestablishedcalibrationdata.3.4.1Theasphaltcontentofamaterialexpressedasapercentage,istheratioofthemassofasphaltinagivenmassofmaterialtothetotalmassofthesampleortothemassofthesolidmaterialparticles.1.1Thesetestmethodscovertheproceduresfordeterminingtheasphaltcontentofsamplesofuncompactedbituminousmixtures(TestMethodA),andoflaboratorycompactedspecimensofbituminousmixtures(TestMethodB)byexaminingatestsamplewithanapparatusthatutilizesneutronthermalizationtechniques.1.2ThevaluesexpressedinSIunitsareregardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundsequivalentsmaybeapproximate.1.3AprecisionandbiasstatementforMethodBinthisstandardhasnotbeendevelopedatthistime.Therefore,MethodBshouldnotbeusedforacceptanceorrejectionofamaterialforpurchasingpurposes.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeSection6and8.4.2,8.5.6,andNote4,forspecifichazards.
