【摘要】:ThismethodisfordeterminingthecrushstrengthofsphericalcatalystsusingaChatillonmotorizedsamplestandandforcegauge,ortablethardnesstester.Themethodappliesonlytosphericalparticleshavinganominaldiameterof1.6-mm(1/16-inch)orlarger.Themeasurementrangeisfrom250Newtons(N)(56lbf)downto1N(0.22lbf).TestapparatusotherthantheChatillonmaybeusedprovidedcomparabledatacanbeobtained.Forstatisticalpurposes,thenumberofspherescrushedissetataminimumoffifty;however,moremaybespecified.DatageneratedusingthismethodcannotbedirectlycomparedtothosegeneratedusingUOPMethod914.Thismethodwillyieldhighervaluesforcrushstrength.Propercomparisonscanonlybemadeaftertestsareruntodeterminetheoffsetbetweenthetwomethods.Suchoffsetsareexpectedtovaryfromproducttoproduct.
