【摘要】:Severalphysicalpropertiesofrigidcellularplasticsaredependentoncellsizeandcellorientation.Measuringwaterabsorptionandopen-cellcontentinaccordancewithTestMethodD2842andTestMethodD2856requiresknowledgeofsurfacecellvolume,whichusescellsizevaluesinthecalculations.Thistestmethodprovidesanapparentcellsizebecauseitassumesthatthereisnomeasurableedgetoedgeortoptobottomvariationinaveragecellsizeandthatthecellsizedistributionabouttheaveragecellsizeisnormal.Iftheanalystisconcernedtheremaybesignificantvariationineithertheaveragecellsizeorthecellsizedistributionmoredetailedanalysismayberequired.Beforeproceedingwiththistestmethod,referenceshouldbemadetothespecificationofthematerialbeingtested.Anytestspecimenpreparation,conditioning,dimensions,ortestingparameters,oracombinationthereof,coveredinthematerialsspecificationshalltakeprecedenceoverthosementionedinthistestmethod.Iftherearenomaterialspecifications,thenthedefaultconditionsapply.FIG.1RazorBladeCellSizeSpecimenSlicerFIG.2CellSizeScaleSlideAssembly1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheapparentcellsizeofrigidcellularplasticsbycountingthenumberofcell-wallintersectionsinaspecifieddistance.1.2ProcedureArequiresthepreparationofathinslice,notmorethanonehalftheaveragecelldiameterinthickness,thatismechanicallystable.Formostrigidcellularplasticsthislimitsthetestmethodtomaterialswithanaveragecellsizeofatleast0.2mm.1.3ProcedureBisintendedforusewithmaterialswhosefriablenaturemakesitdifficulttoobtainathinsliceforviewing.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninbracketsareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;TheannextoISO2896istechnicallyequivalenttothistestmethod.
